(Senior) Tooling & Molding Engineer (Plastic)

OVERVIEW:

The ideal applicant would have strong knowledge of injection tooling processes excellent tooling design experience as background and development skills. Problem solving and good documentation skills are also required. The candidate must speak and write English and Chinese proficiently. Global manufacturing experience is desired and working travelling is required.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to OEM, tooling supplier, molding shop sites for injection molding issues solution, technical supplier assessment, process development and validation, or issue resolution.

• Handle and analyze for tooling capacity, yield issues for project and drive root cause corrective action across internal and supplier factories.

• Deal with sudden tooling and molding issues at molding supplier with effective solutions.

• Travel to internal supplier sites to support process development efforts and issue resolution with 40-50% travel.

• Risk estimation for defect of injecting part and tooling/molding.

• Lead pre-estimate molding cycle time and monthly capacity.

• Reasonable for tooling size match inject machine tone.

• Meet reviewing for risk estimation of tooling, part drawing from molding aspect.

• Improve analysis defeat reason, solve issues, optimize molding process and take solution.

• Join critical tooling test and risk checking on molding shop site.

• Collect molding parameter for each tools of project.

• Responsible injecting part technical skills transfer/connect/communicate so that tools are under safety operate for mass molding.

• Collect data of injecting tooling check list at OEM side.

• Optimize& solve molding parameter of part defeat, enhance yield rate.

Required Skills/Qualifications / Experience:

• Higher polymer material or mechanical related major, bachelor degree or above.

• Proficient oral and written English and Chinese communication skills.

• At least 8 years of practical experience in inject molding shop, hand on experience.

• Know well for plastic material specification and molding technology process, set parameter; optimize technical data, identify defeat of part/tooling and improve issues.

• Familiar with injecting machine and relative equipment, structure principle and operating method, understand technical data for injecting machine and its equipment and based on technical data to select best equipment.

• Skillful office and CAD designing software.

• Understand different tooling and injecting machine structure and function, and operate different brand injection machines, fast solve issues for quality of mass production.

• Analysis and provide effective solve and improve solution for defect part of mass molding.

• Know well for kinds of plastic material specification, have profound basic theory for injecting technology, injecting tooling structure, plastic material specification.

• Monitor stable status of molding parameter at molding shop and daily tooling maintenance process.

• Positive working mentality and responsibility, have developing spirit and strong skill of communication, cooperation capability, team working spirit.

• Bear work pressure and have independent solve injecting issues and strong practical capacity and provide guide for others.

• Strong technical experience and interpersonal skills in a team across different function team.

Education/Certifications/Affiliations:

• Bachelor of Engineering

• CET-4 (College English test 4)
