Agronomist

Purpose of the position

• To manage our Direct Farmer Sourcing program to ensure food safe produce is made available.

• Job calls for extensive travel to remote farming locations (Domestic & International).

Job Description

• Technical expertise to reduce farmer's cost of cultivation, increase crop yield and ensure that farming practices are sustainable

• Drive farmers and farms towards internationally recognized certification by adhering to sustainable farming practices. Maintain an excellent rapport with farming communities.

• Conduct field visits to monitor and advise the best set of practices to implement at farm level.

• Record management of cultivation, quality and sustainability related activities. Generate reports and present findings to management and clients.

• Should possess knowledge in organic, natural farming techniques & advanced farming methods.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology/ Agricultural

• Experience: 1 year in Food/Agriculture industry

• Knowledge on pepper, turmeric, coffee, cassia is desired

• Knowledge on EU, US regulation for pesticide, microbiology, allergen,... other contaminants on agricultural products

• Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, ISO 22000, RFA, Organic standards.

• Knowledge of Organic practices and sustainability certification practices

• Knowledge of mapping farming needs and developing package of practice for food- safe herbs and spice complying with international pesticide residue levels, allergens and other contaminants.

• Good understanding on weather situation and agronomical aspects globally.

• Pay attention to detail & execution.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Problem solving skill

• English fluency in listening, speaking and document writing
