• Must have intermediate or above English language skills as all our accounting work is in English.

You will be TRAINED to do the following tasks:

Accountant:

• Prepare annual Australian Income Tax Returns.

• Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts and partnerships.

• Accounting for fixed assets & fixed assets management, including depreciation schedule.

• Perform account/transactions reconciliation and resolve/report the reconciling items.

• Prepare workpapers with supporting documents.

• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

• Understanding of the different forms of business ownership in Australia and how these relate to things like director payments, drawings...

Bookkeeper:

• Responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting duties, including data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and inter entity transaction reconciliations.

• Preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)

• Preparation of payroll including superannuation for employees.

• Perform account/transactions reconciliation and resolve/report the reconciling items.

• Prepare workpapers with supporting documents.

• Liaise with other external service providers including banks, tax advisers, investment advisers etc

We're looking for someone with (in priority order):

• Experience as a Bookkeeper is an advantage.

• Experience with payroll is an advantage.

• Experience with Xero/MYOB and the Microsoft Office suite is an advantage.

• Major in Accounting (i.e not Finance) is an advantage.

• Ready to commit & be trained to the Australian Taxation for the next 3 years or more with a clear career development path.

• Excellent English communication & writing skills (IELTS 6.5 equivalent). All our accounting work is in English.

• Having high attention to detail, and Precision-oriented, having OCD traits is welcome.

• Excellent applying of methodical and logical process (i.e if A = B, and B = C, then you can figure out A = C)

• Excellent excel, spreadsheet analysis & computer skills.

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changeable environment effectively, with minimal supervision

• Being self-motivated, working under high pressure, and organised.

• Knowledge of Australian taxation legislation is an advantage (not compulsory).

• Completed or completing CA/ACCA/ICAEW/CPA equivalent is an advantage (not compulsory).
