BIM Modeler (Scan To BIM)

Role and Responsibilities

As part of this position, you will be involved in 2D and 3D modeling of BIM projects from point cloud data. Your responsibilities will include:

• Direct communication and collaboration with the project manager.

• As-built modeling.

• Development of quality control procedures.

• Extracting and integrating relevant data from point clouds into BIM models to meet unique client demands.

• Optimizing BIM models for performance, ensuring efficient file sizes and proper layering systems.

• Preparing detailed documentation of workflows, feedback, quality control processes, and project updates for internal and client reporting.

• Ensuring compliance with BIM standards, pointSpace standards, and client-specific expectations.

• Exploring and implementing innovative solutions to enhance BIM modeling efficiency and possibilities.

• Tailored model formatting for specific project needs.

Candidate Profile

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD software.

• Expertise in SCAN TO BIM concepts.

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) equipment modeling standards.

• A good command of English or French.

• Familiarity with quality control standards.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.

• Project management capabilities.

Specific Skills

The candidate should meet the following criteria for each respective software:

Revit (Versions 2022–2025)

• Full project modeling from point cloud data (start to finish).

• Creation of floor plans, ceiling plans, terrain models, roof plans, facades, etc.

• Formatting models for professional delivery.

• Creation of architectural and MEP families.

• Handling georeferenced models/point clouds.

• Exporting files in appropriate formats (IFC, DWG, PDF, PNG).

AutoCAD

• Architectural drafting from point cloud data.

• Creation of blocks.

• Efficient use of work and layer templates adhering to our standards.

• Rigorous element-by-element quality control to ensure precise representation of client requirements (LOD, included elements, nomenclature/symbols, etc.).
