CFL is currently seeking candidates to join our rapidly expanding team. We seek to hire a Business Development Manager (BDM), Building Materials that will report to the Director, Business Development. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our multi-national Commercial Export Team. The position will also cooperate strongly with Local Market sales and Manufacturing / R&D, thus excellent communications skills in Chinese and English are required. As the BDM Building Materials, you will work across teams to provide the alignment, knowledge, resources and tools that help CFL deliver exceptional quality and service to our customers.
Market research
- Independently perform market exploration and data research activities
- Understand what the market wants, what current products are available, what “problem” CFL could help to solve
- Calculate the size of the market and map out the main competitors and product trends per region
Channel development
- Identify the main route-to-market options per region
- Develop target list per channel and a related business development plan
- Help to develop the commercial offer per channel
Product Management
- Liaise with R&D to finetune product design specifications to market needs
- Develop product offering per channel
- Coordinate the development of a matching brand story with marketing supports (cf. below)
- Handle lead/customer requests and enquiries regarding new products and projects
- Install and uphold a reiterative process by which, through trial and error, the offering to the market is adjusted to maximize volume and profit potential
Customer's Relationship
- Develop corporate relationships with customers by means of consultation, follow-up, preparing proposals, service and terms (payment, MOQ, warranty etc.) agreement negotiations, quotations.
- Liaise with customers to understand their needs and make appropriate recommendations by providing latest updates on new or existing products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Represent CFL and on the other hand put yourself in customer's shoes, handle issues in the best interest of both customer and company
- Provide Sales Trainings on product knowledge and sales features to other CFL teams and to the customer, when necessary
- Manage each customer's portfolio (Product Range Management), update and maintain CRM (refer to Standard SKU lists, loading database, data on the server). Same for serious leads with positive perspectives.
- Negotiate quotations with the customer and update them in CRM (refer to standard Price-lists + possible negotiated discount)
- Financial follow up of each account, credit insurance and payment follow up.
- Organize customers' visits to the factory, hold meetings, prepare the showrooms and write Meeting Summaries and Action Plans.
- Coordinate with Customer Service the samples required to develop existing customer and prospect's accounts.
- Participate in Exhibitions representing CFL.
Brand Management (Marketing)
- Develop and offer marketing support to clients
- Communicate with Marketing dept. to develop a matching brand story with marketing supports and to keep them up-to-date
- Confirm and sign packaging (box, inlay, label) before production.
Customer Service Management (Internal)
- Oversee and supervise Customer Service team communications with customers of the assigned region.
- Monitor and ensure accurate pricing, service order to customers.
- Handle incidents, find solutions and troubleshoot problems (mistakes, delays, big quality issues)
- Ensure all product information is correct, complete and ready-to-use for Customer Service team and properly input in CRM files.
- Samples Management ' provide exact, correct information to Customer Service team (specs, qty, due date, address) to prepare the samples requested/offered to customers.
