Category Manager is in charge of researching goods resource and managing relationship with suppliers to choice best products at stores to satisfy customers demand:
Manage products
- Understand the market, the role of the category in the supermarket, capture customer needs, sales history, monitor the market, new trends to elaborate optimize goods assortment, in accordance with customer demand
- Select Assortment of concerned Category according company policy
- Responsible of Pricing Strategy and Price Management
Manage relationship with suppliers
- Negotiate contracts terms, trading terms with suppliers
- Negotiate seasonal area items, Purchases and promotional prices, returnable condition
- Follow up on regular basis with suppliers (targets of sales, Promos, Stock ,OOS , deliveries …)
Organize promotion program
- Elaborate program plan and follow the promotion according company policy
- Define prioritized goods, seasonal goods in promotion subject
- Propose and manage supplier promotions, consumer promotions
- Coordinate with Marketing to liasie the promotion information
Support stores and accounting department
- Support stores in solving difficulties with suppliers about delivering, goods quality, price...
- Support accounting department about invoices, documents, payment; support in settling debts with suppliers
Coordinate with other Commercial team
- Communicating with other Category Manager/ Commercial Manager in the same Department about supplier, product, project, event or campaign expectations and goals
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from stores and other Category to gauge satisfaction and success
Report
- Periodically make report as required by superior to support in purchasing: Pricing and quality according with market demand, clearly information and sufficient in quantity
- Other activities according to job requirements and assigned by superiors
