Chief Accountant

Wecare group is a B2B industrial distributor that leverages Data and Technology to optimize operations within the industrial supply chain (Construction Hardware, Industrial Chemicals, Electrical Materials, Water Industry Equipment)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting operations and ensure the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance. This role is particularly crucial in a dynamic startup environment, where agility, reliability and scalability of accounting and finance systems are key to sustainable growth.

1. Key Responsibilities

+ Lead the accounting team: mentor, manage performance, drive continuous improvement of accounting operations and processes.

+ Establish, implement and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy of financial statements, and support growth.

+ Oversee the full month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, inventory/invoice/invoicing cross-checks, costing, elimination, inter-entity transactions if applicable.

+ Prepare, review and present accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow), management reports, variance analyses and KPIs to senior management.

+ Ensure compliance with VAS, ensure tax filings, regulatory reporting, audit coordination (internal & external) and liaison with tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.

+ Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, cost control initiatives and financial risk management, particularly in a startup context where resources and margin pressures are significant.

+ Work cross-functionally with Finance (FP&A), Supply Chain, Sales, Procurement, IT/Data, to ensure accounting data feeds operational dashboards and supports decision-making.

+ Drive automation, system improvements to scale the accounting function and enhance timeliness, accuracy and insight delivery.

+ Monitor changes in accounting, tax or regulatory environment and update policies accordingly; ensure team is trained and processes updated

+ Highlight, report and manage financial control risks to the CFO and Board.

+ Other ad-hoc finance tasks and special projects as required in a fast-moving startup.

2/Key Requirements

+ Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting/Auditing/Finance.

+ Certification: Must possess a valid Vietnamese Chief Accountant Certificate.

+ Experience: Minimum 05 years of experience, preferably in the Distribution/Retail/Trading industry (especially construction materials, electrical/plumbing equipment, industrial Chemicals, water industry equipment).

+ Specialized Knowledge: Experience in handling tax and documentation issues for high-volume wholesale transactions.

+ System Skills: Deep technical knowledge of accounting principles and standards (VAS, IFRS), proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills

+ Business-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across functions in a startup culture
