Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant at my company plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and success of an organization. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, including tax compliance, and reporting, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

The Chief Accountant must be knowledgeable in accounting practices and standards, with strong leadership and communication skills & must take a proactive approach to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies and solutions, and ensure financial controls are in place to meet regulatory mandates.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overlook full spectrum of financial and accounting roles e.g., Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Tax, etc. & responsible for day-to-day operations of accounting function.

• Organize and supervise the performance of accounting functions, including reviewing monthly/quarterly/yearly single and consolidated financial statements under VAS, ready to prepare/convert financial statements under IFRS.

• Supervise monthly/yearly accounting ERP to detect and support promptly errors and violations.

• Collaborate with auditors to complete statutory audit or ad-hoc audit within the timeline.

• Coordinate with Tax Manager to deal with tax authorities for tax matters and to provide consultation to other functions when needed.

• Maintain internal control process relating to finance function and effective accounting system and policies in place.

• Propose recommendations to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting function.

• Support Finance Manager in ensuring budget controlling and Tax Manager in reviewing intercompany transactions in line with master agreements and transfer pricing regulations.

• Provide guidance and support to other departments on matters relating to payment and accounting.

• Graduated from university with major in economics, accounting, auditing, finance, and banking. Prefer candidates with ACCA, CPA, CFA, CMA and other professional certifications in finance, accounting and auditing

• Chief accountant certificate is necessary, must have experience dealing with auditors in Big 4.

• Min 3-5 years relevant experience in financial & management accounting particularly in Ecommerce, Ride Hailing, ... Big 4 audit background at manager level & familiar with IFRS are an advantage.

• Experience with operational accounting management, internal and external management reporting, ERP System, and tax management.

• Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.

• Knowing SQL, Oracle is an advantage.
