Civil Engineer

B. Purpose

• To develop design, drawings, scope of works in approve projects and MOCs in support of other divisions.

• Responsible in works related to Civil asset integrity management program, e.g. develop civil inspection plan, manage inspection contractor, review and assessment inspection result from contractor (third party), summary inspection, provide recommendations for civil repairing/maintenance works.

• Responsible in implementation of regular inspection of civil assets.

• To provide technical support and resolutions for the NSRP projects such as upgrade, modification, and extension projects.

C. Responsibility

• Manages in engineering works such as review or generate of engineering documents, Scope of Work, structural design works and other related engineering works to NSRP projects such as upgrade, modification, extension projects and MOC’s.

• Provide engineering resolution to maintenance and projects on Civil and Structural works.

• Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, Scope of work, engineering, drawings, project specifications and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.

• Develop NSRP standards, workflows, and procedures with cooperation with other section/division and other processes according to NSRP management manual.

• Review and approve appropriate work schedules for contractors and NSRP staff and plan daily work assignments.

• Manage Contractor in site to oversee the construction activities in plant projects and provide immediate solution in the event there is a change in design as per actual site condition.

• Manges works on matter related to Civil Asset Integrity Management Program.

• Support Civil Engineering Leader on a technical and administrative level.

• Dedication to maintaining safe operations enforcing strict conformance with all government regulations and applicable company procedures and policies.

• Fully comply with NSRP regulations in Health, Safety and Environment Management.

• Performs other tasks as may be required.

Educational Level : University Graduate, Bachelor Engineering Degree.

Work Experience : Required 8-10 years’ experience in civil engineering preferably in Refinery or

petrochemicals in or out of NSRP.

Minimum 1 TA and/or unplanned shutdown.

Experienced in Civil Asset Integrity Management (Civil Inspection and

Maintenance activities management) in operation plant is an advantage

Specialty/Qualification : A degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.

Practicing Civil and Structural Engineering design Certificate Level 3 at least

Skills :

• Capability to assume the role of site Civil Technical Authority 2

• Ability to mentor and coach Junior Engineers or less experienced employees and/or control contractor team <5 men.

• Can plan own work functions and supervise Junior Engineers and small contractor teams.

• Work independently and lead in more complicated task or projects

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and national codes and guidelines.

• Proficient knowledge of international codes/standards such as ACI, AISC,ASCE, IBC, BS EN, DEP Shell.

• Proficient knowledge in Hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design, geotechnical engineering and investigations, boundary, and topographical surveying (civil).

• Proficient knowledge in performing calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures (structural) design.

• Proficient knowledge in Construction Material review and providing engineering resolution to Construction.

• Proficient knowledge of STADPRO design software.

• Proficient knowledge of AUTOCAD drafting software.

• Proficient knowledge in report writing, preparing presentation and meeting content.

• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft applications includes Word, Excel, and Outlook.
