About FinOS

Our People

Hung Pham

Senior Product Manager, Micro-Lending

After 10 years in banking, it was time to take the next step in my career. Moving from traditional consumer lending to digital lending at FinOS was the perfect opportunity to make this happen. Being new to digital, it meant doing something I’ve never done before and made it very challenging in the beginning. However I embraced the unknown and with a strong, patient supportive leader behind me, I was able to overcome these challenges.

We’re not just a new company, we’re bringing a new lending model to Vietnam that’s fundamentally different to other companies. We have a strong focus on digital solutions and we constantly push ourselves to be innovative, to apply technology to improve how we do things day-to-day so we can create a great customer experience.
It’s this company vision and mission that makes working for FinOS so exciting. Our products are helping more people have greater access to lending and investment financial services. By successfully developing micro-lending solutions that can solve all loan originating processes of retail and consumer lending products on mobile devices we are making a difference on people’s lives. I feel proud that we’re adding real value and having a meaningful impact on the community.
This is made possible by being surrounding by a team of experts that bring a wealth of IT, banking and financial services knowledge to our products. We’re able to learn from each other, by solving problems through working together. And we make things happen because each person takes initiative and responsibility for their actions. Integrity, innovation and accountability really underpins everything we do at FinOS.

Giang Luong

Development Manager

The opportunity to constantly learn is a big a motivator for me personally. When learning stops or slows down, it’s time to move on. At FinOS, the opportunity to learn about a new business, products, technology and most importantly, to get to know 40 people in my team, was exactly the kind of learning I was looking for in my career.

In my role, learning new things comes with a lot of responsibility and involves being able to refine complicated requirements from the Product Team. As the Development Manager I’m able to play a dual role of Project Manager and Development Manager. It means I can ensure the right people are on the right projects and the everything is run properly. It also means I’m able to provide each person in my team with a development plan so that they have the opportunity to gain new skills or experiences to improve their knowledge of different technology or systems. This is important for a smart, young, hard-working team.
Being flexible is also something we all value. FinOS is not as strict, or rigid with office hours as other companies. There’s a high trust culture that focuses on the value of the output, not on the hours or time spent in the office. Overall, there’s a more open, flexible working style across the company. It’s often the small things that makes the biggest difference.

Duc Nguyen

Assistant Solution Architect

With 10 years of IT experience, my ‘what next’ was all about doing something different new. So when I joined FinOS just over a year ago, designing software for Micro Investment Services became my new, new. Since then, I’ve been an Assistance Software Manager as part of a strong technical team, developing software from scratch. To now, I’m a Solution Architect integral to the big picture, constantly learning from the team and excited about the opportunity to think different.

FinOS is a great place to do exactly this. It’s young, flexible and open to ideas about how to apply new technology. It’s also fast. Ideas are set in motion quickly. It’s a refreshing change from crippling, drawn out bureaucratic approvals of more established product-based companies.
Another benefit of being part of a start-up is the opportunity to get closer to the customer – to understand their needs and wants first-hand. Working closely with the operations team means I can get to the heart of the actual issue faster and can resolve problems more effectively by drawing on the expertise of my team, and building the system together.
Our team consists of a great mix of tech and business knowledge which means we’re always learning from each other. We have a hard working ethic which is balanced out by a great social culture that is young, fun and friendly. We really do work hard and play hard too!
I joined FinOS to have an opportunity to do something new, to take on a big challenge and to be part of real change. After less than a year, I am so proud that our software is having a real impact on the lives of low income people. People who didn’t have access to lending before. That’s why now, I feel that joining FinOS is more than just about doing something new, it’s about doing real good and changing lives for the better.
