A – Job summary The Compliance and Risk Management Officer manages the day to day operations of risk mitigation and policy and procedure development with primary responsibility for the overall implementation and maintenance of the School’s operations compliance and incident management platform including the development and delivery of system support processes, tools and training and responsibility for promoting and improving the risk and compliance culture. B – Essential duties and responsibilities 1. Compliance ● Develop procedures to monitor and ensure that the school operations are in full compliance with relevant effective laws and regulations in EC-12 international schools in Vietnam, as well as professional standards, and the school internal operations standards. ● Conduct compliance audits regularly to identify potential weakness and noncompliance issues; constantly report and propose action plans to deal with the noncompliance situation(s) to AHOS - Finance and Operations. ● Collaborate with HODs to review operations policies, procedures and to implement changes as needed for fully compliance proposes ● Ensuring alignment of compliance, safety and risk management frameworks with the school strategic plan from time to time. ● Collaborate with operational HODs and the internal audit team from PMH in implementation of the school's annual audit plan. 2. Risk Management ● Develop and promote the School’s Risk Management Framework in line with the school strategic plan. ● Facilitate implementation of the relevant policies and procedures effectively to manage risks; ● Continuous review risks management policy and framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose. ● Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks within planning and operational processes; Conduct deep-dive reviews and investigations into major incidents issues or concerns that may significantly affect the School, in coordination with relevant HODs. ● Provide advice and assistance on the development and implementation of corrective actions, controls and relevant reporting. ● Support the AHOS - Finance and Operations to ensure Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Evacuation and Critical Incident Plans are in place, appropriately implemented and maintained. ● Collaborate with HODs to ensure effective and efficient risk oversight, provide a plan for long-term control of any potential risks. ● Provide learning opportunities and tools to support increased faculty & staff knowledge and capability in risk management in school operations. ● Delivery periodically and ad-hoc Risk Assessment Reports to the AHOS - Finance & Operation, School Senior Leadership Team and the School Board. 3. Safety management ● Monitor operational procedures and systems, in collaboration with Facility Manager and Health Office Manager, to provide students with a child-safe environment and facilities in SSIS campus. ● Ensure the compliance of the School operations with the School’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety. ● Keep abreast of regulatory requirements in safety in EC-12 school operations, current developments in relevant laws and regulations as applicable to update to AHOS - Finance & Operation timely for any potential/necessary changes in school operations procedures. 4. Data Governance and Protection: ● Continue to develop the school’s Data Governance strategy and framework, ensuring data protection compliance. ● Serve as the school’s Data Protection lead, offering specialist advice on privacy management. ● Manage risks associated with data processing, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. ● Conduct regular reviews of privacy management and records management policies. 5. Team effectiveness and collaboration ● Develop positive relationships with colleagues and other members of the school community and maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. ● Maintain a positive attitude towards new and different ideas and approaches. ● Attend, as required, meetings as convened by management and staff. 6. Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required to support the School’s operations, within as directed by the AHOS for Finance and Operations from time to time.

Knowledge, Education and Experience: ● Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Management or related field ● Minimum 5 years’ experience in a risk, compliance, or assurance position (within an educational setting preferred but not essential) ● Knowledge of industry and professional standards, frameworks, and tools to support risk management and compliance ● Demonstrated knowledge of codes of practice, principles and standards of compliance and risk management, the ability to interpret legislation and build capability, as appropriate ● Excellent computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills Skills: ● Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data integrity and accuracy ● Autonomous, with demonstrated initiative and motivation to manage competing priorities, monitor progress, and meet operational demands ● Excellent interpersonal and professional communication (both written and verbal) skills to effectively collaborate with administrators, staff, and external stakeholders in an articulate and professional manner Abilities: ● Ability to establish cooperative and positive working relationships to work as an effective team member or independently, in an agile and responsive manner ● Demonstrated professionalism and integrity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion as required ●Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to resolve problems
