CSA Pre-Construction Manager

Responsibilities:

• Check thoroughly the design work undertaken by contractors/design consultants and/or IGAV design team to ensure a high-quality output reflective of the standards expected by the Company.

• Management of subordinates and outsourced consultants for engineering tasks including Civil, Structure, Architecture (CSA), and in coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, Process, and Fire Protection (MEPF).

• Manage CSA estimation tasks for quantity surveying, value engineering, and cost management.

• Liaise with MEP Pre-construction team for engineering coordination and estimation of Mechanical, Electrical, Process, and Fire Protection.

• Manage project permitting process.

• Act as Design Manager for assigned projects.

• Responsible for enhancing the overall quality of design, as well as developing standard operating procedures (SOP) related to Engineering service.

• Ensuring the design administration of assigned projects is well managed, including using proper methods, tools, and systems to ensure appropriate design coding, storage, and retrieval of documentation.

• Operational control of design projects to ensure that there are appropriate resources allocated for each project, each is scheduled appropriately, and milestones are met within expected timeframes.

• Management of client expectations in line with the contractual requirements with the client, including change control; managing issues that arise from the contract with the client; managing client expectations with respect to scheduling and ensuring that out of scope work is appropriately negotiated with the client.

• Participate in design meetings as part of the design management & coordination, resourcing and to ensure deadlines and milestones are on track.

• Assist the Business Development Department by providing advice regarding design resources, man hours and scheduling for proposals.

• Ensure the implementation of design practices and procedures used by design team meet the standards established and expected of the Company.

• Produce quick cost studies in collaboration with the project stakeholders when required.

• Preferred Degree qualified in Architecture, or Structure, with knowledge and experience in advanced technology facilities, Bio-Pharma Life science and high-end industrial projects.

• Able to manage all design and estimation of CSA and have basic knowledge for MEPF.

• Years of experience: a minimum of 15-year experience with at least 5 years as CSA Manager.

• Advanced knowledge in local standards and regulations.

• Advanced knowledge of design standards in Europe and Asia.

• Strong design aesthetic and the ability to produce high quality design.

• Detail oriented, and the ability to anticipate and prevent, or address creatively design mistakes for the benefit of the client and the company.

• Advanced skills in written and spoken English.

• Advance leadership skills, with the ability to motivate & lead teams, organize and manage the time of others in a highly efficient manner, demonstrate decisiveness and issues management.

• Advanced skills in the use of design software such as AutoCAD and medium to advanced skills in Revit/Navisworks/ACC and cloud coordination, and in the use of office software such as Word, Excel and Open Office.

• Advanced communication skills include the ability to produce project presentations, manage difficult clients, coordination of design teams. Importantly, this role requires the incumbent to resolve problems and seek out win-win solutions.

• Experience at construction site is a plus.
