Data Engineer

YOUR MISSION: The Data Engineer is in charge of collecting, transforming and storing data assets while ensuring their quality, availability, monitoring & accessibility.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Understand the Architecture of data & continuously improve it through scalable solutions: ----Know which Tools/Platform/Libraries are at disposal.

Understand the properties of the different tools used in my project (databases, processing / query engine, workflows orchestrators, stream processors..) and their performances and implementation costs.

Keep learning and training on relevant technologies.

Design scalable solutions with interoperable technologies.

2.Development of data pipelines (on their own, in pair, or mob):

Understand the business needs and participate to the writing of SMART technical user stories.

Maintain a backlog of user stories.

Respect the norms and best practices of tests (TDD, BDD, Unitary tests, Integration tests,..).

Maintain the code’s quality (readability, documentation, maintainability, re usability, efficiency)

3. Ensure the quality of the pipeline deployment and its run phase:

Respect the deployment rules.

Ensure the pipeline evolution and scalability.

Prioritize the hotfixes of production issues.

In charge of the data quality, accessibility and data monitoring implementation.

At least 1 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

Manage and optimize databases such as PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational systems).

Write efficient and scalable code using SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).

Design and implement data architectures and pipelines, including data modeling, orchestration, and monitoring.

Apply software quality testing practices (unit, integration, and functional tests).

Utilize CI/CD tools (e.g., GIT, Jenkins) to automate and streamline deployment processes.

Demonstrate strong critical thinking and a growth mindset to continuously improve systems and processes.
