Design Tech Lab Technician (Full Time, Local-Hire)

* Position Summary:

● As the Design Tech Lab Technician in the high school division, you will provide essential operational support for STEAM teachers, focusing on Design Tech/Engineering/Programming-related subjects. Your role encompasses preparing and setting up necessary equipment and materials in designated classrooms and labs. This involves attending and assisting in relevant departmental meetings and activities, managing the inventory of lab equipment and supplies, and engaging in regular discussions with teachers and the course

team to address the needs of upcoming labs and curriculum developments. Your contributions will be pivotal in facilitating a robust and effective STEAM education environment.

* General Expectations:

● Assists students and faculty in the Robotics, STEAM Lab, and Design Tech classes.

● Prepares materials requested by faculty as necessary.

● Sorts, shelves, and files various lab materials accurately.

● Maintains accurate inventory records.

● Ensures the proper functioning and maintenance of lab equipment, including regular servicing of

3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters.

● Meets regularly with teachers and the course team to discuss upcoming labs or curriculum

needs.

● Comfortable working in an educational environment with high school students.

* Education:

● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

* Experience:

● Experience in a technical or educational lab setting, especially in supporting electronic

(Arduino/Raspberry Pi), programming, and design technology projects.

● Knowledge and skill in the application of the principles of the engineering design process.

● Hands-on experience with 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters.

* Skills:

● Proficiency in spoken and written English.

● Ability to communicate with precision.

● Independent and responsible work ethic.

● Ability to instruct and support students in technology and design projects.

● Comfortable using technology (Google Suite).
