Designer Draftsman

Job Summary

The Designer Draftsman is responsible for preparing engineering drawings, gathering related technical information, and supporting project managers. This role requires a hands-on approach, meticulous attention to detail, and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis: Understand clients' needs to provide appropriate and useful solutions. Ensure all necessary specifications or particular requests are in hand for project realization.

• Component Research: Conduct research on components using the Internet, catalogs, etc., as needed.

• Technical Recommendations: Offer technical recommendations to optimize designed products and overall company operations.

• 3D Design Creation: Create 3D design drawings, detailed drawings, 3D simulations to evaluate forces, and perform necessary engineering calculations.

• 3D Modeling: Develop 3D models illustrating the project and/or manufacturing methodology.

• Drawing Corrections: Make necessary corrections to drawings.

• Technical Support: Provide technical support to production during projects.

• Quality Assurance Compliance: Ensure compliance with the quality assurance program.

• Meeting Participation: Prepare for and actively participate in statutory and formal meetings to validate short and long-term work planning, project follow-ups, and the achievement of annual objectives with the Director of Engineering.

• Production Reports: Complete various production reports within required deadlines.

• Additional Tasks: Perform all other related tasks as needed.

• Working hours: from noon till10PM, 40 hours/week.

• Education:

o Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related/equivalent major.

o Any other relevant proof of education and experience.

• Skills:

o Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (mandatory).

o Knowledge of Servicentre (an asset).

o Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Qualifications:

o Good communication and writing in English. French is an asset.

o 0-5 years of related working experience.
