Director of Engineering - Fintech

How You'll Make an Impact

As the new Director of Engineering at Trusting Social, you will take over leadership of our talented 50 person product engineering team in Vietnam.

You will guide the frontend, backend, mobile and QA teams to design, develop and continuously enhance our innovative Fintech, AI and big data platform that is democratizing credit access across emerging markets. You will drive a culture of excellence, ownership, integrity and agility.

What You'll Do

●Provide strategic and tactical leadership to the frontend, backend and QA engineering teams in delivering high-performance, scalable microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations

●Coach and empower engineering managers and team leaders to achieve ambitious goals

●Foster an positive, engaging and inclusive work environment that attracts and retains top talent

●Own the recruiting, onboarding and development process for the engineering organization

●Uphold and model the company values and provide timely, constructive feedback to the team

What We're Looking For

● BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.

●12 to 15+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise across frontend, backend and QA

●7+ years leading and scaling engineering organizations of 50-70+ people across multiple teams

●Proven success building and mentoring high-performing, agile engineering teams in a fast-paced, startup environment

●Experience as a software architect designing and evolving scalable, resilient enterprise systems

●Strong technical skills to guide and advise developers in making pragmatic tradeoffs

●Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ideal Experience

●Experience leading engineering at a fast-growing fintech, consumer lending, or credit risk assessment startup

●Track record of large-scale software delivery and operating mission-critical systems

●Hands-on knowledge of modern web frontend frameworks, Java/Python/Node.js backend, microservices, APIs, big data, cloud, DevOps, and QA automation

●Expertise in agile planning, project management and SDLC best practices

●Adept at partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute on the technology roadmap

●Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities

●Exceptional talent spotting, recruiting and development capabilities
