Economic Analyst (Mekong-Australia Partnership) - (LE5)

The Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking a self-motivated and well-organised candidate to fill a vacant Economic Analyst (Mekong-Australia Partnership) position (Locally Engaged Staff – LE5). The exercise may be used to fill similar positions over the next 18 months from the date of advertisement.

Under the limited direction of the Economic Consul, the Economic Analyst will be responsible for the implementation of key trade and economic policy initiatives. The analyst will manage Post’s engagement on economic and development issues, which may include sustainability (i.e. climate mitigation) and innovation (i.e. digital transformation). The role requires program management skills, including in financial management, contract management, and monitoring and evaluation.

Applicants should have a sound understanding of the Vietnamese government and business context, and political-economic acumen. Prior experience with Mekong Delta region will be considered an advantage. Highly developed communication skills (written and oral) in English and Vietnamese are required.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term non-ongoing contract for initial one (1) year with a potential for renewal or ongoing/permanent contract. The full-time monthly gross salary ranges from VND 44,466,051 to VND 50,046,931.
