Engineering Manager

A. Overall Responsibility:

The Engineering Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the mechanical and electrical systems of the factory are in good condition to support smooth and uninterrupted production operations.

B. Main Responsibilities:

1. Identify, formulate, and resolve engineering problems across the site.

2. Ensure a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan is in place for all key machinery and utilities, communicated to all HODs, and strictly followed.

3. Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of safety procedures.

4. Ensure procedures are developed and enforced for all high-risk tasks within the engineering function.

5. Conduct biannual performance reviews for subordinates and create appropriate development plans.

6. Ensure all maintenance work is executed at optimal cost through competitive quotations from qualified personnel.

7. Establish effective systems for managing all contracted workers on-site.

8. Develop and implement succession plans for employees identified as having potential for promotion or greater responsibility. Ensure knowledge gaps are clearly defined, and training plans are created to close those gaps.

9. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure uninterrupted production operations.

10. Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, reduce costs, and enhance labor and material utilization.

11. Complete and maintain reports such as time records, production logs, inventory lists, and test results.

12. Establish or adjust work methods and procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of machine, equipment, and personnel capacities.

13. Monitor operations and inspect, test, and measure completed work using tools, gauges, and specifications to ensure conformance to standards.

14. Recommend improvements such as procedural changes, service manual updates, and equipment purchases to enhance performance and reduce operating costs.

15. Examine equipment, systems, or facilities (e.g., CNC routers, air-conditioning units, or industrial plants) and analyze data to determine installation, servicing, or repair needs.

16. Request materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for maintenance or project activities.

17. Calculate and estimate actual costs related to materials, labor, and external contractors; prepare and manage budgets accordingly.

18. Train team members in procedures, methods, and the use of equipment and work aids, including blueprints, hand tools, and test devices.

1. Minimum Educational Attainment: Bachelor of Electrical / Mechanical or related fields.

2. Professional Qualification: Thorough understanding of machines and tools, including their design, applications, repair procedures, and maintenance requirements.

3. Minimum Working Experience: 5–10 years of experience in a related role.

4. Skill Required:

- Strong knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

- Familiarity with principles and procedures in personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, as well as HR information systems.

- Practical understanding of engineering science and technology, including the application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment in the design and production of various goods and services.

- Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Office and AutoCAD.

- Ability to develop and maintain action plans aligned with key objectives.

5. Language Required: Strong command of English (4 skills)

6. Other Requirement: Experience in Dyeing, Winding machine is an advantage.
