Environmental Engineer (Short-Term)

Our client is a foreign-invested enterprise developing one of the largest thermal power projects in Central Vietnam. The project plays a vital role in supporting the country’s energy infrastructure and ensuring power supply stability. We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer for a short-term assignment expected to last until June 2026. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for supporting the project’s environmental compliance and sustainability objectives during the construction phase. This position requires close coordination with internal teams, contractors, and local authorities to ensure all activities meet environmental regulations and company standards. Main Duties: • Monitor and report the company’s environmental performance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements. • Develop, implement, and drive environmental strategies, policies, and improvement initiatives. • Stay updated with Vietnam and international environmental regulations, ensuring proactive compliance. • Manage environmental permits, licenses, reports, and waste exemptions. • Oversee pollution control, carbon footprint reduction, waste management, and sustainable procurement. • Coordinate with contractors and environmental service providers to ensure project compliance. • Lead environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions. • Represent the company in public consultations and maintain communication with regulatory bodies. • Manage and continuously improve the Environmental Management System (EMS).

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical expertise, hands-on experience in environmental management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a large-scale industrial project environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field. • At least five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in FDI companies; experience during thermal power plant construction phases is an advantage. • Strong knowledge and practical experience in environmental management and compliance. • Proven ability to work effectively with local authorities and regulatory agencies. • Willing to work overtime or on weekends when required or in emergency situations. • Good English communication skills (both written and spoken) and proficient in computer applications.
