Factory Manager

We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee our lean garment manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and managing a team to achieve production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives. Coordinate with the Production Planning and merchandising team for future and present order status and oversee the capacity of the factory.

• Lean Manufacturing Governance: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction.

• Production Oversight: Manage and supervise daily manufacturing activities at all stages of garment operation, including sampling, marker making, cutting, sewing, and packing to meet production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery commitments.

• Resource Optimization: Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials to minimize waste and reduce production costs.

• Quality Control: Implement and uphold strict quality control measures to ensure garments meet established standards. Identify areas for improvement and execute quality enhancement initiatives. Address and resolve quality-related issues promptly.

• Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for manufacturing operations and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.

• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods, minimizing waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity. Strong focus on deskilling tasks and implementing automation to streamline production processes and enhance productivity. Work closely with engineering and technology teams to deploy automation solutions effectively.

• Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to departmental managers, leaders, and teams. Foster a culture of disciplinary, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the production departments. Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.

• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and key metrics for management review.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, labor laws, industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies in all production activities. Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 05 years of experience in a senior production management role within the textile or garment manufacturing industry.

• Proven track record of implementing Lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, including sewing, cutting, pattern making, and sample development.

• Language: English is a must, Chinese is preferred.
