ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Delivered in partnership between the School of Creative Industries and the Business School, BA (Hons) Professional Communication (Business, Design & Strategy) is an innovative degree designed to equip students with conceptual and practical creative skills, together with strategic business acumen, needed to operate and manage effectively across a variety of disciplines (Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations) within today’s ever-evolving communications industry.

We welcome academics from the following fields to apply in support of this new and exciting programme:

• Marketing & Advertising

• Public Relations

• Communications Design

• Communication Strategy

• Creative Direction

• Copywriting

• Digital Media

• Multimedia Production

• Entrepreneurship (in the Communications or Creative Industries)

Successful applicants will be adept at educating students in various visual communication and design processes.

Candidates should have a proven track record of effectively supporting and advancing student success, along with strong industry knowledge that enhances the undergraduate programs within the School of Communications & Creative Industries.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Essential

Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Academic Levels B & C)

• PhD or Doctoral qualification and Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognised institution.

• University or postgraduate teaching experience in English-medium programmes.

• Higher education teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

• Strong subject knowledge to support curriculum development and student learning.

• Familiarity with modern teaching methods and ability to engage students effectively.

• Research experience with evidence of high-quality publications or outputs.

• Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance in higher education.

• Excellent communication skills and a clean police record.

Associate Lecturer (Academic Level A)

• Enrolled in a PhD or Doctoral programme at an internationally recognised institution.

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of undergraduate teaching experience in English-medium programmes.

• Higher education teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

• Strong subject knowledge to support curriculum development and student learning.

• Excellent communication skills and a clean police record.

• Prefer candidates with strong industry experience.

Teaching Practitioner / Fellow / Senior Fellow

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of university-level teaching experience in English-medium programmes or 5 year working experience in the industry.

• Strong subject knowledge and ability to support curriculum development and student learning.

• Excellent communication skills and a clean police record.

Desirable

All Positions

• Evidence of excellent teaching (e.g. peer review).

• Experience living and working in Vietnam or Asia.

• Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance.

• Higher education teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

• Positive impact at programme or discipline level.

Academic Levels B and Above

• Active research engagement and high-quality outputs.

• Ability to lead research projects and secure funding.

• Experience teaching at postgraduate level.
