The role & key responsibilities
The Fashion & Design Lab Technician is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the Fashion Lab and other facilities that support the delivery of courses in the School of Communication & Design. This includes:
Maintenance of the Fashion Lab’s equipment, inventory and resources in a well-organized and good working condition for students and for demonstration by academic staff during their lab activities.
Providing high-level technical support to staff and students in the safe operation and use of the Fashion Lab (sewing, knitting and embroidery machines, DTG printers, and other equipment).
Maintaining the Design Studio and Maker Space ensuring that they are kept clean and well-maintained, meeting the requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.
Staying updated with the latest developments in relevant technologies and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.

Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Bachelor Degree in relevant fields.
At least 2 years’ experience in managing a Fashion lab or working in a relevant clothing industry.
Having experience in managing an AV store, editing suites or media studio will be of additional advantage.
Demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining sewing and overlock machines, embroidery machines, knitting machines, and DTG printers.
Experience in Adobe photoshop and illustrator or willingness to learn is preferred.
Well-developed verbal and written English communication skills to provide excellent customer support to staff and students.
Strong customer service approach with ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability and experience to work independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and efficiently as a member of a team and to be adaptable to changing circumstances. This position is required to work on Saturdays to support students.
Knowledge of current Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations and practices as well as relevant experience in their implementation.
English proficiency requirements
If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard, equivalent to IELTS (General) 5.5. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a Linguaskills test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
