Fashion + Technical Designer Position

*** Excellent English spoken and written ***

*** Vietnamese language required to communicate with the Sewing / Sample Room team***

*** Previous experience in a trading office or Factory dealing with Outerwear garments a plus ***

We are looking for a FASHION / TECHNICAL DESIGNER to play an important role in turning ideas into finished products. To anticipate any design issues and liaise with our customer's designers and our factories to ensure garment specifications are adjusted accordingly and that the end result is a high-quality, marketable product.

Job Description

• Report directly to Head of Sourcing and Design and daily work with Sample Room team

• Creation of product technical specifications sheets and fabric charts using CAD / Illustrator and Photoshop

• Prepare spec packages including construction details, front and back view sketches, fabrications, trim sheets and critical measurements

• Design of badges, illustrations, logos, creation of prints

• Illustrate collection and scan images

• Skilled to take Garments’ measurements

• Implementing design changes and making contingency plans as necessary

• Collaborating with Artistic Director, manufacturers, vendors, and clients to ensure product specifications are viable

• Analyzing designs and determining required resources and project deadlines

• Ensuring all products are high-quality and that they are conformed to company standards and brand values

• Daily communication with Pattern Maker and Sample Room in order to achieve correct samples

• Evaluating prototypes and inspecting finished products to ensure that they are free from defects.

• Help maintain the management of fabric samples

• Cooperate with the factories to finalize the samples and give main suggestions during fitting process

• Help manage proto samples / accessories / fabric libraries

• Good command of Clo 3D fashion design software a plus

• Handling a range of admin duties

Skills & Experience

• Established Fashion graphic and print skills

• Stronger preference given to those with experience in parkas, coats, downwear, jackets categories

• Diploma or University Degree holder in Fashion, Technical Design or a related field is compulsory

• 5+ years’ experience

• Practical experience with design software such as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CAD

• Understanding of garments’ patterns and ability to work with the Pattern Maker and Sample Room’s team

• Knowledge and experience with pattern making

• Ability to draw quickly to a high standard and to interpret designs and sketches

• Understanding of garment construction, different textile materials and their properties

• Rich and strong knowledge of complete Apparel product development process

• Appreciation of details, shapes, proportions and sizes

• Must have excellent verbal and written English skills with outgoing, extroverted personality

• Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to details
