Finance Manager - Based in Manila, Philippines

The Finance Manager oversees the financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities of the company, ensuring strong financial governance and compliance with Philippine regulations. This role supports strategic decision-making, manages financial risks, and ensures optimal capital utilization within the energy sector—an industry with long project cycles, regulatory oversight, and capital-intensive operations.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

- Lead annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.

- Analyze project returns (IRR, NPV, payback) and evaluate investment feasibility.

- Monitor operating costs, CAPEX, and project cash flows.

- Provide insights on market trends.

• Financial Reporting

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).

- Consolidate reports for multiple energy assets or SPVs.

- Present management reports, variance analysis, and financial dashboards to executives.

• Regulatory & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with:

o BIR reporting and tax requirements

o DOE, ERC, PEZA, or BOI incentives/requirements

o Environmental and project-related financial submissions

o Oversee audits (internal, external, and regulatory).

• Treasury & Cash Management

- Monitor cash flow across projects under construction and in operations.

- Manage bank relationships, loan drawdowns, and project financing compliance.

- Oversee hedging, liquidity, and debt service requirements.

• Project Finance & Investment Support

- Work closely with project development teams on financing structures:

o project finance, SPV structuring, escrow, and financial closing

- Prepare financial sections for proposals, PPAs, EPC contracts, and joint ventures.

• Cost Control & Procurement Support

- Oversee cost monitoring for EPC, O&M, and engineering contracts.

- Implement financial controls for procurement, inventory, and asset management.

• Leadership & Team Development

- Supervise accounting, finance, and billing personnel.

- Implement process improvements and financial systems upgrades (ERP, BI tools).

- Promote compliance, governance, and financial discipline across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.

• CPA preferred but not always required.

• At least 5–8 years of finance experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.

• Proficiency in English.

• Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure industry is highly advantageous.

Strong knowledge of:

• PFRS

• BIR taxation

• Project finance concepts

• CAPEX management

• Regulatory compliance (DOE/ERC)

• Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel), ERP systems (SAP), and presentation tools.
