Job Description

Mission:
To plan, develop and ensure a smooth running finance and accounting function that supports the operation and expansion of SLH, and at the same time ensure compliance of the regulatory framework. This position will grow and develop the finance team to be one that is productive and competent. The FPAM will also engage in other projects outside of finance and accounting areas to help deliver the growth plans.

Report to: the Head of Finance and Planning in Singapore, dotted line to the Managing Director

Key Responsibilities:
1. Finance and Accounting:
* Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and analysis for management
* Prepare board decks
* Prepare and monitor annual budgeting and forecasting
* Monitor project development for new schools
* Review all payments and approve payments as per the Authority Matrix
2. Taxes
* Review monthly closing of the accountant, including reconciliations, aging reports etc
* Review financial accounts and statements and tax reports and ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards and regulations.
* Review the audit process and ensure timely submission of accounts to authorities.
* Ensure management report and financial report are reconciled
* Responsible for all tax matters in Vietnam, such as lead tax finalization process etc.
3. Develop Finance team & Functions & Other Projects
* Coach the Senior Accountant to ensure team efficiency
* In the 1st year, review practices and ensure SLH has updated SOP for efficiency and growth target
* Review current accounting softwares and provide report to include improvements and timelines
* As a senior member of the team, you will be given other responsibilities and projects outside finance and accounting to help deliver business results and the growth plans

Job Requirements

Competencies:

* Finance, tax knowledge, skills and network: strong knowledge of Vietnamese and international finance and tax knowledge with at least 7-8 years of work experience, including 3 years in a Big 4 Accounting Firm as an auditor and ideally coupled with education industry exposure.
* Education: University graduate in Accountancy or Business Finance. A professional certification such as CPA, CA or CIA is preferred.
* Organizing and planning: excellent organizational skills, prioritize tasks well so important ones are completed on time with very good quality
* Communication: Strong ability to understand, speak and write clearly and, confidently in both English and Vietnamese.
* Computer skills: fast learner and efficient user of office applications and software

* Commercially minded: strong ROI (return on investment) for all proposal
* Creative and curious: think out of the box and ahead of current practices and trends
