About the Job

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Furniture Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate needs to have extensive experience in furniture construction and furniture testing, with a strong ability to use AutoCAD 2D & 3D to create and interpret detailed furniture construction drawings up to sample completion.

Specific Responsibilities Would Include:

• Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D to create, modify, and review technical drawings related to furniture.

• Can Interpret and execute detailed furniture construction drawings from line shop drawings, concept photos, or project specifications.

• Should be able to develop and produce assembly instructions for ensuring ease of understanding and execution.

• Can fully engage in K/D & F/A furniture product engineering, ensuring that designs meet production and assembly requirements.

• Be able to participate in the design and engineering process of fully assembled and disassembled furniture products, ensuring that designs meet production and assembly requirements and pass testing requirements.

• Can conduct thorough inspections of technical drawings and constructed furniture to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.

• Should be able to make decisions following customers’ requirements and specifications.

• Ensure that all technical drawings are fully checked for accuracy and completeness before final approval.

• Basic skills and knowledge on finish checks and color match.

• Knowledge of furniture testing protocols such as ISTA and ASTM, BIFMA/ANSI, ANSI/SOHO.

• Able to recommend solutions and for any customer concerns on damage and returns.

• Should be able to follow up and monitor product development from start to finish and make random production checks to make sure the items’ construction are followed.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have:

• University graduate or equivalent experience required, technical training in carpentry, engineering, or any related field is preferred.

• Proven experience as a Furniture Technician or similar role in the furniture industry, with roles in construction and other furniture engineering responsibilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD 2D & 3D, with the ability to create and interpret detailed technical drawings.

• In- depth knowledge of furniture construction techniques and materials, with experience in K/D & F/A product engineering.

• Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of construction testing standards.

• Experience with decorative accessories and or lighting is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Communication and teamwork abilities.
