Garment Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

• Follow new styles through the development process from concept to PPM, getting styles fit approved in the agreed timeline and to the correct standard by adopting a right first time work ethic. Interpreting customer comments from design intent into actual. Ensuring all operational methods are production friendly and using the best efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1, (30%)

• Liaise with design / tech team (at HO & in region) for any styling, fit or construction call-outs.

• Submit fit logs for all samples produced and keep recorded logs of styling, fit, pattern & construction changes.

2, (20%)

• Drive handover meetings and keep in constant contact with cross-functional departments.

• Check tech pack information is accurate and issued to the factory PP team on time.

3, (30%)

• Arrange Factory Pre-production meeting & summarize Pre-production notes on time

• Support factory PP team on difficult styles or new processes

• Work with sample sewing team & sample coordinator to control sample on-time delivery.

• Ensure material testing results are complete, reported & recorded – copies maintained in the tech pack

4, (20%)

• Train sample coordinators & Assistant gmt Technicians to understand company workflow, follow-up and action tasks

• Any other tasks requested by next line manager or Top Management

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Major/Subject: Textile / Apparel

Professional Qualifications

• Textile / Apparel related University or College degree.

Years of Work Experience:

• 2-3 years of Ladies Intimate background in design or sample sewing.

• Exposure with Bra / panty construction & related making up method workflow (or apparel industry exposure with good garment sense).

Technical Skills:

• General understanding of sewing machines & related applications.

• Understanding customer comments & its relationship to patterns.

• Basic understanding in intimate production process & quality standards.

• Basic understanding in fabric moulding & seamless apparel preferable.

Languages

• Understand spoken & written English terminology related to workflow and communication
