Group Manager - Structural Engineering

• Responsible for the overall management of the Civil/Structural Engineering Department, including the recruitment and development of Civil/Structural Engineering Team members, mentoring team members, establishing the annual workforce plan, implementing initiatives for the overall improvement of human resource management.

• Directly responsible for the achievement of the Civil/Structural Engineering strategic targets and key performance indicators for the team each year, including responsibility for implementing strategies to improve overall client satisfaction and quality of design.

• Ensure that all local Engineering practices and procedures meet the standards established and expected of the Group.

• Directly responsible for developing an annual plan and budget for the Civil/Structural Engineering Department in consultation with the Managing Director and the Group Director of Engineering.

• Attend client and stakeholder meetings, coordinate with clients at all levels.

• Provide input and implement project work programes and ensure that key project decisions and/or corrective actions are made in a timely manner, and are well communicated to all staff and stakeholders.

• Undertake structural calculations and analysis and produce safe, economic, efficient and buildable designs.

• Manage the structural project team(s) and managers to ensure high quality production of deliverables to agreed deadlines and budget(s).

• Implement and manage a quality assurance system which ensures a high standard of checking of the design drawings, documents and calculations prepared by the Civil/Structural Engineering Team; and which ensures the drawings and calculations are properly reviewed and checked in line with internal company and statutory requirements.

• Implement and manage a continuous improvement program for all Civil/Structural Engineering operations and processes.

• Implement and assure that all policies and procedures are implemented and followed. Continuously improve policies and procedures in order to increase quality and productivity of service.

• Produce and review structural design briefs, documents, reports and specifications as required.

• Manage and oversee execution of all key accounts through strategy alignment, execution, and education.

• Follow up budget/targets set by BODs and assure conformity, balance the workflows/ timeline in the budget controlling

• Provide supervision and guidance on all aspects of building design including compliance with statutory requirements, design for safety, sustainable design, building efficiency, value engineering, quality of product etc, ensures projects follow the overall strategic direction of the company.

• Development of design procedures, workflows, and improvements to services. Support in defining more efficient workflows in design and extension of services for a company growth. Resolve problems and issues that arise in engineering, ensure that any adverse environmental impact of the project is managed and minimized.

• Plan out the manpower capacity for project, approach and training for team members, clearly career path development for engineers, allocate resources in an efficient manner.

• All other ad-hoc tasks, as may arise, that relate to design management.

• Bachelor or master’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering

• Proficient knowledge in civil or structural engineering, Proficient knowledge of Eurocode

• Experience in coordination with other parties and clients in projects

• Human Resource and Budget Planning and Management skills

• Project Management skills

• Good communication skills in English language

• At least 8 years’ experience in Civil or Structural Engineering position

• At least 3 years’ experience in Management Position (Management of 10+ People)

• At least B2 English skills
