(1) SUSTAINABILITY GOVERNANCE
To build a strategic & data-driven management system for the Company in terms of Sustainability, including but not limited to below scopes:
1.1 Strategic planning
1.2 Sustainability risk management
1.3 Sustainability Committee management
1.4 Sustainability reporting
(2) STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT:
- Ensure communications, dialogue and engagement in term of AEON Sustainability efforts to both internal & external stakeholder
- Closely collaborate with Corporate Communications Department to make sure the Sustainability angle is implemented across communications strategy
- Support the effort to make AEON is recognized as Top Sustainable Retailer by Stakeholders through Awards achievement, Partnership, and Capability Enhancement tactic
- Related stakeholders as below:
1. Government, Local Authority (both Vietnam & Japan)
2. Business Advisor
3. Related Business Associations/ Coalition
4. Employee
5. Consumer
6. Landlord
7. Shareholder, Investor
(3) SUSTAINABITY PROJECTS
Together with related departments to conduct Sustainability projects in local communities where AEON has business, with the aim to create & maintain Brand reputation, engage local citizen, involve local staffs, gain good relationship & support with local authorities. Sustainability project is divided into 3 pillars:

The Corporate Sustainability & External Relations Department is not in charge of Corporate Communications, promotions of sales and marketing activities; however, if those can be applicable to enhance CSR activities then CSR will coordinate cross-departments, and CSR have rights to get supported regarding PR activities, promotions of sales or marketing activities from the relevant departments.
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
'1.1 Stakeholder Mapping and Analysis
_ Identify and categorize key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, NGOs, academia,... based on their influence and relevance to AEON Vietnam’s sustainability goals.
_ Conduct stakeholder analysis to understand their expectations, priorities, and potential impact on AEON Vietnam’s business operations and sustainability initiatives.
_ Develop and maintain a comprehensive stakeholder database to facilitate effective communication and relationship management.
1.2 Government Relations
_ Build and maintain strong relationships with Vietnamese Government bodies, regulatory authorities, and policymakers to ensure alignment with national sustainability policies.
_ Advocate for AEON Vietnam’s sustainability vision and initiatives, contributing to policy development and regulatory compliance.
_ Monitor and provide insights on relevant government policies, regulations, and initiatives to ensure AEON’s proactive response to legislative changes.
1.3 Industry Collaboration
_Ensure AEON Vietnam's presence in sustainability-related forums, industry associations, and working groups to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable retail.
_ Foster partnerships with other retailers, suppliers, and logistics partners to promote collective action on shared sustainability challenges.
1.4 Academic and NGO Partnerships
_ Establish collaborations with universities and research institutions to support innovation in sustainable retail practices.
_ Partner with NGOs and social enterprises to co-develop impactful programs that align with AEON’s sustainability priorities.
_ Leverage academic and NGO partnerships to enhance AEON’s credibility and expand its sustainability outreach.
Sustainability Communications
'2.1 Internal Sustainability Communications
_ Develop internal communication strategies to enhance awareness and engagement among employees ON AVN’s sustainability goals, projects, and achievements.
_ Prepare sustainability content (newsletters, announcements, ...), to keep staff informed and motivated to contribute to sustainability initiatives.
_ Collaborate with other departments to integrate sustainability messaging into employee onboarding and training programs.
2.2 External Sustainability Communications
_ Coordinate with related department to implement communication plans to position AVN as a Sustainable Retailer of Choice among key stakeholders
_ Create compelling content for sustainability campaigns (speeches, case studies, videos, articles, ...) that highlight AEON’s sustainability initiatives.
_ Work with Corporate Communications team to ensure consistent and impactful sustainability messaging across all platforms
_ Plan and execute sustainability-focused communication campaigns to engage customers & communities on AEON’s sustainability priorities
_ Leverage creative storytelling to inspire behavior change among stakeholders, such as customers adopting sustainable consumption habits.
2.3 Sustainability Awards and Recognition
_ Identify opportunities for AVN to apply for national and international sustainability awards and certifications.
_ Prepare applications and supporting materials for awards to elevate AEON Vietnam’s brand as a leader in sustainability.
_ Communicate achievements externally to strengthen corporate reputation and stakeholder trust.
2.4. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
_ Regularly track and analyze the performance of sustainability communications and reporting initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and impact.
_ Use feedback from stakeholders, reporting audits, and post-report evaluations to enhance the quality and credibility of sustainability communications.
_ Introduce innovative tools, platforms, or reporting trends to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of AVN’s sustainability reporting.
Sustainability Reporting
'3.1 Data Collection and Management
_ Define the structure, format, and requirements for data reporting based on sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs).
_ Set reporting deadlines and criteria, and provide clear guidance to the Sustainability Projects Deputy Manager for data alignment with international and local reporting standards.
_ Coordinate the data validation process to ensure consistency, integrity, and readiness for external disclosures.
3.2 Report Content Development
_ Transform the data and project details provided by the Sustainability Projects Deputy Manager into a compelling narrative that aligns with AVN's vision and brand as a Sustainable Retailer of Choice.
_ Structure the report sections, ensuring alignment with reporting standards and stakeholder expectations.
_ Design and coordinate the editorial, visual, and storytelling aspects of the report to ensure clarity, impact, and readability.
3.3 Internal Coordination and Collaboration
_ Work with the Sustainability Projects Deputy Manager to identify material topics for reporting through stakeholder engagement and materiality assessments.
_ Oversee the report's editorial process while ensuring that the sustainability project updates are effectively communicated.
3.4 Development of Progress Dashboards and Reports
_ Use the dashboard insights to identify reporting highlights, trends, and improvement areas to showcase AVN's sustainability performance in external reports.
3.5 Continuous Improvement and Feedback Integration
_ Incorporate stakeholder feedback and industry trends to improve AVN’s reporting standards, ensuring that future reports remain credible, transparent, and impactful.
'Sustainability Crisis Communications and Reputation Management
'4.1 Crisis Communication Strategy Development
_ Coordinate with related department tp develop a comprehensive Sustainability Crisis Communication Plan to ensure swift, coordinated, and effective responses to sustainability-related crises.
_ Define clear roles, responsibilities, and escalation procedures for the Corporate Sustainability, External Relations, and Communications teams during a crisis.
_ Establish key messages, talking points, and communication protocols for internal and external stakeholders.
4.2 Internal Coordination and Communication
_ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accurate information during crises.
_ Provide internal stakeholders with regular updates on crisis developments, AVN’s response actions, and recovery plans to ensure organizational alignment.
_ Train internal teams on sustainability crisis protocols, ensuring preparedness across all business units.
4.3 Reputation Recovery and Mitigation
_ Lead post-crisis assessments to identify root causes, gaps in communication, and opportunities for improvement.
_ Design and implement recovery strategies to rebuild AEON Vietnam’s reputation, emphasizing corrective actions, learnings, and renewed commitments to sustainability.
_ Develop campaigns to highlight AEON Vietnam’s positive impact, initiatives, and proactive measures, ensuring a balanced narrative post-crisis.
Yêu cầu công việc
- University degrees in 1 of following study field: Business
management, International Relations, Public Relations, Marketing, etc.,
- Higher Education relating to Sustainability is not required, but a plus point;
- Functional Certificate relating to any field of Diplomatic, Communications is not required, but a plus point;
- Minimum 02-03 year of experiences in 1 of following field: CSR, Marketing, PR & Communications, etc.,
- Minimum 01-02 year of team management & development
