Hands-On Manager – Black Soldier Fly Farm & Factory

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Factory Manager to lead our Black Soldier Fly (BSF) pilot production facility in Vietnam. This position requires hands-on involvement in the rearing and processing of BSF larvae while overseeing and managing overall production operations. The construction of the factory is expected to be completed in 4 months.

- Factory Size: 1,000m^2 with 4 - 6 full-time workers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct involvement in the rearing and processing of Black Soldier Fly larvae:

+ Daily collection and transfer of eggs to hatching units

+ Maintenance of optimal temperature and humidity conditions for hatching

+ Preparation and application of feed (preprocessed food waste)

+ Monitoring larval development and managing batch rotation

+ Harvesting larvae at the right stage for drying or further processing

+ Cleaning and sanitizing trays and work zones to prevent contamination

+ Manage and supervise the overall operational workflow

- Actively participate in daily operations alongside a small team (4 local production workers), fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

- Handle basic documentation, production reports, and data management in English.

- Maintain equipment, facilities, and inventory to ensure smooth operation.

- Collaborate closely with headquarters to align operations with strategic goals and production targets.

Required Qualifications:

- Proficient English language skills (speaking, writing, reading) to handle daily communications and basic documentation.

- Proven experience in managing and operating production processes in industries such as agriculture, aquaculture, manufacturing, or similar factory-based environments.

- Preferably aged 25 or older, or possess equivalent professional experience demonstrating maturity and management capability.

Preferred Attributes:

- An individual who has worked with BSF (Black Soldier Fly) farming or managed a small-scale BSFL farm.

- Practical problem-solving skills and capability to quickly respond to operational issues.

- Experience or strong interest in insect farming, feed production, or sustainable agriculture practices.

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a small operational team.
