Position Summary:
The Head of Business Development is responsible for driving the growth of assets under management (AUM) through strategic client acquisition and institutional relationship management in Vietnam and the region through UOBAM Group’s network. The position requires a deep understanding of the Vietnamese capital markets, investment, and the regulatory framework set by the State Securities Commission (SSC).
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development Strategy
• Lead the development and execution of business development strategies.
• Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities.
Capital Raising, Channel Management and Client Coverage
• Oversee fundraising activities for various asset classes and investment products.
• Expand partnerships and distribution channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with key institutional clients.
• Lead investment pitches, proposal development, and client onboarding processes.
• Lead negotiation of distribution agreements and ensure optimal product placement and visibility.
Product and Market Intelligence
• Provide market insights and client feedback to the investment and product teams.
• Monitor local and regional asset management trends to inform product development and positioning.
Marketing and Brand Building
• Work closely with marketing to strengthen the firm’s brand in the market.
• Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and client engagement sessions.
Team Leadership
• Manage and develop a high-performing business development team.
• Set clear goals and performance KPIs; foster a client-centric, proactive sales culture.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight
• Ensure all business development activities comply with local regulations and internal policies, governance.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams on client due diligence, KYC/AML, and licensing matters.
Yêu cầu công việc
Qualifications and Experience:
• Master's degree in business, finance or a related field.
• Fund management certificate by SSC is a plus. If not, certificate of laws on securities and stock market and certificate of fundamentals on securities and stock market by SSC is a must.
• 10+ years of experience in asset management, banking, securities, or investment advisory in Vietnam.
• Strong network among distribution partners, institutional investors, and HNWIs in Vietnam.
• In-depth knowledge of Vietnamese investment products, market structures, and SSC regulations.
• Experience in launching or distributing funds. Prior leadership experience managing business development or sales teams.
Skills and Attributes:
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities in both Vietnamese and English.
• Strong sales acumen and client-oriented mindset.
• Entrepreneurial, adaptive, and proactive approach to market opportunities.
• Knowledge of financial modeling and investment analysis is a plus.
