We are a leading global digital media and entertainment company, seeking a Head of Music to lead our music strategy. This role will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding the entire music business ecosystem—including content acquisition, publishing, rights management, catalog monetization, artist partnerships, and commercial licensing—to drive long-term revenue growth and industry leadership
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Music Strategy & Business Leadership
• Define and execute the company’s end-to-end music business strategy across publishing, distribution, licensing, and catalog growth.
• Set long-term vision for music partnerships, investment areas, and new monetization opportunities.
• Develop annual plans, OKRs, and financial targets for the Music division.
2. Rights Acquisition, Publishing & Catalog Management
• Lead acquisition of music rights (publishing, master, performance, sync) through artists, labels, producers, and content owners.
• Oversee global distribution pipeline with DSPs (YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok Music, etc.).
• Ensure accurate rights ingestion, metadata quality, copyright enforcement, and royalty payout governance.
• Expand and manage a high-value music catalog to maximize lifetime value.
3. Licensing, Monetization & Commercial Partnerships
• Drive monetization across digital platforms, OTT, brand syncs, advertising, and third-party licensing deals.
• Negotiate commercial terms with labels, publishers, talent agencies, and global rights organizations.
• Build strategic partnerships that elevate catalog visibility and unlock new revenue streams.
4. Artist Relations, A&R and Creator Ecosystem Management
• Lead A&R strategy: scouting, evaluating, and signing high-potential artists, producers, and composers.
• Manage creator partnerships, music influencers, and multi-platform content creators relevant to music IP.
• Ensure artists receive best-in-class support, creative direction, and commercial development.
5. Operations, P&L Management & Cross-functional Collaboration
• Own the Music division’s P&L, budget planning, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Content, Legal, Finance, Commercial, Studio Production) to ensure operational excellence.
• Align music initiatives with broader company goals and platform strategies.
6. Team Leadership & Talent Development
• Build and manage a high-performing team across A&R, rights management, publishing operations, and partnerships.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development to nurture music-industry talent.
Yêu cầu công việc
• Over 10 years of experience in the music, entertainment, or digital media industry, including at least 5 years in a leadership role at a record label, publisher, distributor, or music-tech platform.
• Proven background in music publishing, distribution, rights management, and catalog monetization.
• Experience working with DSPs, collecting societies, music tech platforms, or major labels.
• Strong track record of managing large music catalogs and closing commercial licensing deals.
Skills & Competencies
• Deep expertise in copyright, publishing frameworks, metadata, royalty systems, and rights governance.
• Strong negotiation, dealmaking, and partnership management skills.
• Ability to drive strategy with a commercial mindset while maintaining creative excellence.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Fluent communication in English.
