We are looking for an hourly Associate Lecturer (AL)/Lecturer, Science to teach into foundation courses in Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition program with background in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
As an associate Lecturer (AL)/Lecturer, Science, you are expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to your field of expertise. Specifically, you are responsible for carrying out teaching activities within the Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition undergraduate degree program and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Undergraduate teaching including designing, conducting and moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by peer review, course evaluation and/or student feedback.
Professional activities and/or peer-reviewed research activities appropriate to the discipline including publishing research results in high-quality outlets as lead or co-author.
Membership of committees, working parties or other service duties as required.
Adhere to the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam.

Demonstrable knowledge in either Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry, overlapping specialisations such as physical chemistry, and geophysics is preferred. The appointed candidate will be expected to teach modules across STEM aligned with the themes of foundation physics, organic/inorganic chemistry, linear algebra, advanced calculus and the applications of these concepts in the context of real, applied science.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Recent and sustained performance regarding student outcomes, student experience and feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings.

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

For Vietnamese staff: VND782,000 gross/ hour (Lecturer level)
For Expatriate staff: USD44.29gross/ hour (Lecturer level)
The hourly rate you receive is based on an “actual working hour”.
For every hour of teaching, you will be paid for two hours. The two hours related to 1-hour teaching and 1 hour of lesson preparation, marking, and administration.
