HSE & Fire Specialist

• Investigates the workplace incidents, near misses and occupational illnesses with the occupational

physician to prevent similar incidents that may occur again. Specifies the corrective actions and follows up.

• Responsible for making the risk assessments, receiving opinions from employee representatives,

planning the periodical controls for HS&Fire.

• Manages all the personnel who are responsible for health, fire & safety. Prepares shifts and delegates the duties.

• Prepares the emergency plans and keeps it updated. Makes necessary arrangements for the evacuation and environmental drills. Ensures the coordination and communications with other departments. Observes the evacuation drill and reports to HSE Leader.

• Conducts necessary practices and keeps reports relating to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14000 Management Systems. Prepares necessary documents together with HSE Leader at licensing period of the Health/Safety and Environmental activities.

• Determines the trainings that are necessary to be provided for Fire, Safety, field officers and reports to HSE Leader. Provides on the job trainings, health and safety, fire safety, emergency management and for employees, keeps records about these trainings.

• Joins to the health & safety and environmental safety committees. Suggests corrective actions for the nonconformities. Communicates with the relevant departments for the actions deadlines. Investigates the near miss incidents in point, specifies the actions and follows up.

• Leads BOS (Behavior Observation System) tours. Analyzes monthly BOS results and reports them. Leads hazard tours to be made weekly together with the plant manager and takes participate in them.

• Follows up and controls the fire pumps that have to be always in active and keeps the fire water tanks in full. Reports if there are any problems in equipment. Follows up the periodical controls of the fire extinguishers, sends them to fill up / maintenance and responsible for settlement of the fire extinguishers that have been filled up and returned to their places. Ensures making technical maintenance, controls and examinations that are required by the legislations and regulations periodically in time. Supervises the activities of periodical maintenance control/maintenance attitude that are outsourced by HSE group. Keeps records about periodical controls that are made within the scope of Fire Safety.

• Responsible for organization and implementation of the necessary applications in the workplace according to Fire Safety legislations.

• Responsible for creating / performing the corrective and preventive actions.

• Responsible for following the instructions determined by management systems when entering to field (hygiene, health and safety, information security, process safety)

• Performs preventive actions for continuous improvement to prevent employees from health and safety and environmental risks. Joins relevant safety committee meetings.

• Compliance with HSE regulations.

• Ensure that your team conform the QMS rules defined in procedures / instructions and train them accordingly.

• Initiate corrective action requests on QDMS when find non-compliances in processes and reply to corrective action requests timely on QDMS.

• Attend all the QMS related trainings and communicate to your team as well.

• Work to achieve personal / department objectives.

• Participate in internal audits as an Auditor/Auditee

• Minimum 3-5 years for OHSE & Fire Safety experience. FMCG Company is most preferable.

• Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision, Strategic thinking and leadership skills.

• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.

• Thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and codes.

• Expert level know – how on HSE Management Systems and Risk Assessment Methodologies Experience with quality and integrated management systems ISO 14001, 45001.
