OPPORTUNITY

VinUniversity is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded Institutional Data & Analytics Specialist who is passionate about leveraging data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement in a fast-paced international higher education environment.

The Institutional Data & Analytics Specialist will support VinUniversity’s data strategy across a wide range of areas, including global university rankings, accreditation, benchmarking, and institutional effectiveness. This role will work closely with the Strategic Planning Manager, and other university stakeholders to collect, analyze, and interpret institutional data; generate actionable insights; and support the design and implementation of strategies that enhance VinUniversity’s global positioning and academic excellence.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Rankings & Benchmarking

- Analyze and interpret university rankings data (QS and other systems) to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement.

- Conduct benchmarking of peer institutions and generate insights to inform strategic decision-making.

- Research and monitor ranking methodologies and higher education trends to ensure timely and accurate responses.

- Other tasks as assigned

2. Data Collection & Management

- Gather, validate, and organize institutional data for ranking submissions and reporting requirements.

- Develop and maintain institutional databases, dashboards, and visualization tools to monitor performance indicators.

3. Reporting & Analytics

- Produce regular reports and analytics for leadership, highlighting progress and insights related to rankings, benchmarking, and institutional performance.

- Prepare ad-hoc data analyses to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.

4. Capacity Building & Collaboration

- Provide training and technical support to colleagues on data analytics tools, methods, and best practices.

- Provide general administrative and analytical support to institutional data and planning activities.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Bachelor’s degree from a prestigious university in quantitative fields such as statistics, data science, business analytics, or economics.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a diverse, fast-paced environment

- Proficiency in Excel and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, problem-solving and communication skills in English and Vietnamese.

- Familiarity with global university ranking; knowledge of higher education is preferred
