Inventory Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be working closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller and will be responsible for the accurate tracking, recording and reconciliation of the company’s inventory across all its markets including New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, UK, Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies

• Analyse inventory transactions, transfers, adjustments, and variances

• Perform weekly inventory valuations and closely-related activities

• Manage physical inventory counts globally and collaborate with retail, warehouse and operations teams to ensure that they align with system records

• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations

• Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures

• Monitor and report on inventory KPIs (e.g., turnover rates, shrinkage)

• Support audits and provide documentation related to inventory

• Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in inventory accounting or a similar finance role.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with managers and internal teams. Exceptional English is required.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and multitasking abilities to manage tasks to meet deadlines.
