Position Summary
The position is responsible for the managing information and communication technology projects from inception to completion using appropriate project management governance and methodologies. The range of projects includes software/system implementation and development, infrastructure and network development, and other related ICT projects. The position will regularly engage with project champions, sponsors and stakeholders both internal and external to RMIT. The Project Manager is also expected to provide regular project updates and reports to ITS managers and project stakeholders.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Program Manager
Key Accountabilities
Manage small/medium size ITS projects including planning, risk analysis, design, costing, delivery and documentation.
Ensure appropriate project documentation is in place and regular reporting to relevant stakeholders is carried out.
Perform gap analysis and feasibility studies for technology solutions required or proposed for use by RMIT University.
Ensure strict practices of version and change control are maintained for all systems, with particular focus on systems security.
Ensure delivery of projects within allocated budgets and timelines.
Coordinate project activities and deliverables with all internal and external stake holders including Project Control Boards, vendors, users and other RMIT departments.
Evaluate new technologies for their suitability and benefits for use in RMIT.
Any other duties as required.
Job requirements
Key Selection Criteria
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
A formal qualification in a recognized Project Management methodology is desirable.
At least three years of experience in managing multiple medium/large IT projects from inception to completion.
Experience in updated technologies in cloud, IoT, API, big data, ERP…
Experience in academic environment or complex integration projects are big plus
Experience in communicating with both internal and external stakeholders as well as managing vendors.
Experience in successfully developing and delivering affordable IT solutions in line with business needs.
Demonstrated knowledge of current systems and methodologies, including management and understanding of internet systems and security issues in a large corporate environment.
Experience of data networking and Internet infrastructure.
Proven capacity to work under stress and to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
Well-developed personal skills including sound conceptual and analytical skills, and judgement, report writing, negotiation and liaison.
Firm understanding with regards to commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement principles.Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General with a score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
