IT Solutions Intern

About the Program

Solutions Star Camp is a 6-month intensive internship program designed to develop the next generation of Solutions Consultants at Tech Data Vietnam. Through a carefully structured curriculum combining technical knowledge, business acumen, and professional skills, selected interns will gain the exposure, confidence, and mindset required to thrive in the IT industry.

At the end of the program, high-performing interns may be considered for conversion into full-time roles within the Solutions team.

What You'll Learn & Do

- Build a foundation in enterprise IT systems, networking and security, virtualization, cloud platforms, AI/ML fundamentals, and more — through in-person classroom sessions, labs, and project-based learning

- Learn how to translate customer needs into comprehensive, end-to-end technical solutions

- Gain hands-on experience in technical configuration and solution design.

- Develop key consulting skills such as customer engagement, problem framing, and solution storytelling

- Work on real-world business scenarios guided by experienced professionals

- In addition, each intern will be paired with a one-on-one business mentor — an expert outside of the technical team — who will provide valuable insights into the operations, strategy, and ecosystem of the IT distribution industry.

You’ll discover what it means to become a trusted advisor to business partners and end users — someone who bridges technology capabilities with business goals to drive impactful solutions.

By the end of the internship, you will:

- Gain foundational knowledge of enterprise IT systems and current technologies in the market, giving you a practical lens on how technology can be applied to solve real-world business problems

- Understand the role and impact of a Solutions Consultant in the B2B tech sales cycle

- Be confident in presenting solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Strengthen your ability to analyze customer requirements and propose appropriate solutions

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product and Marketing. -

- Be ready to step into a solutions consultant associate role in the tech industry

Education

Final-year students or fresh graduates with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline

Technical Skills

Foundational knowledge of IT systems: servers, storage, networking, operating systems, and cloud platforms

Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), basic scripting, and containerization concepts

Understanding of cybersecurity principles and interest in AI/ML applications is a plus

Exposure to infrastructure design, system architecture, or IT project work through coursework or personal projects

Soft Skills

Basic presentation and communication skills, with a desire to improve

Openness to feedback and ability to adapt in a learning environment

Interest in solving problems and contributing ideas

Professionalism and a positive learning attitude

Willingness to communicate and collaborate in team-based settings

Proficient use of the English language in spoken and written form

Bonus Points

Participated in tech competitions, clubs, or hackathons

Completed relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, LPI, Azure Fundamentals)

Demonstrated passion for technology through side projects, tech blogs, or participation in student IT communities
