NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana, March 8, 2019 – The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)/Vietnam Mission (USAID/Vietnam) recently selected engineering and consulting firm, Trigon Associates, llc (Trigon), to serve as the Prime Contractor providing Architect & Engineering (A-E) services related to dioxin remediation at the Bien Hoa Airbase in Vietnam. Trigon will work closely with USAID and representatives of the Vietnam Mission to create a Project Masterplan for the Bien Hoa Airbase area, which is the largest dioxin contamination “hotspot” in Vietnam. This is due to past usage, storage, and handling of Agent Orange and other herbicides during the U.S.-Vietnam War with elevated levels of dioxin remaining in soils and sediments decades later. The Dioxin Remediation at Bien Hoa Airbase Area is one of the highest priority U.S. Government activities in Vietnam. During and after Masterplan development and approval, Trigon will also provide detailed engineering design and construction management services to implement the approved remedial approach(es). Finally, Trigon will serve as USAID’s strategic and technical advisor throughout the project implementation period and as USAID’s eyes and ears overseeing the work of other USAID contractors at the Project.
