Manufacturing Specialist Trainee (6 Months In Singapore)

Position Overview: The Manufacturing Specialist Trainee at Makino Vietnam will undergo a comprehensive 6-month rotational training program to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various departments related to CNC machine assembly and manufacturing operations. The role is designed to build a strong foundation in assembly processes, process engineering, quality control, supplier quality engineering, and warehouse management. This position prepares the trainee for a future role as a Manufacturing Specialist within the company.

Afer 6-month training, be able to start working full-time in Hung Yen, Vietnam

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assembly Department (2 months):

o Learn and perform basic assembly tasks of CNC machines processes.

o Understand the use of tools and equipment in assembly operations.

o Adhere to safety and quality standards during assembly processes.

o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly efficiency.

2. Process Engineering (1.5 months):

o Gain knowledge of process engineering principles and practices.

o Assist in process optimization projects and learn to use engineering tools & software.

o Understand and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes.

o Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve production processes.

3. Quality Control (2 weeks):

o Learn quality control and assurance principles and techniques.

o Conduct quality inspections and audits on CNC machines and components.

o Use measurement and testing equipment to ensure product quality.

o Analyze quality data, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.

4. Supplier Quality Engineering (2 weeks):

o Understand the role of supplier quality engineering in manufacturing.

o Participate in supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments.

o Communicate quality expectations to suppliers and ensure compliance with standards.

o Handle non-conformance issues and assist in implementing corrective actions with suppliers.

5. Warehouse Management (2 weeks):

o Learn warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping processes.

o Understand inventory management principles and participate in stock control activities.

o Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory.

o Conduct inventory audits and ensure the accuracy of stock levels.

6. Specialization (1 month):

o Specializing in the department where the trainee will be posted permanently.

o Gain in-depth knowledge and skills specific to the chosen area.

o Work closely with department leaders to understand advanced concepts and techniques.

o Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives in the specialization area.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with engineering software.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.

• Able to communicate in English

Career Path: Upon successful completion of the training program, the Manufacturing Specialist Trainee will be considered for a Manufacturing Specialist position within Makino, where they will apply their training to contribute to the respective manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
