Marine Piping Engineer

Emerald Cruises is recruiting Marine Engineer or Mechanical Engineer with knowledge and experienced of ship systems, machinery and mechanical installations (Bilge, ballast, cooling sea water systems, fresh water supply and production, lub oil systems, oily water, fuel oil stems, machinery installations (main engines and auxiliary generators, pumps and other ship systems).

Scope of job: Perform inspections and monitor inspection processes and tests related to production activities:

piping, welding, testing, installing equipment, function test.

Location: Halong Shipyard, Halong city, Quang Ninh, Vietnam

Pre-inspection:

Establishment of monitoring and inspection process. To agree the process with the register of shipping and the Shipyard.

Review documentation/specifications/quality plans to identify the quality requirements and documentation deliverables.

Advise on the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)

Review the traceability of materials, storage conditions

Advise on building strategy.

To double check diagram and MTO with designer/ maker for pipe and equipment installation.

Review of welder qualification, WPS, WPQ

Incoming inspection:

Random inspection of the quality of pipe and equipment material, equipment condition.

Main inspection:

Supervise pipe fabrication in workshop: cutting, bending, fit-up, welding, galvanizing, protecting…

Installation pipe on board: vibration, collision, maintenance…

Measuring foundation dimension, position

Install main engine, shaft, propeller, generator… according to maker/class requirement.

Testing:

Leak test/ pressure test/ commissioning test/ function test/ Port test/ Sea trial Test.

Quality awareness:

Investigate identified quality issues and develop effective corrective actions and initiate actions to avoid future error.

Advise production and engineering for improvement

Issue a Non-conformity report (NCR), quality observation report and outstanding items. Follow up when items are done by relative ship yard to close, giving repair advice where necessary.

Communication:

Contact with building yard, project team and Class Societies for verification of production activities.

VTC technical checked by supervisor, and send to the PM via secretary site team.

Organize/leading weekly production meetings with the building yard and make/send the MOM.

Manage and store technical acceptance documents of nominated projects

Experienced ship piping/ marine engineer

Good knowledge of design and operation of ship systems, including start-up and commissioning bilge, ballast, sea cooling water systems, oily water, exhaust systems, freshwater production, main engine installation, fuel oil systems, and other ship systems.
