Merchandise Manager - Apparel

• Manage planning, allocation, conduct, review and reporting of merchandising activities within product area to meet or exceed budgeted sales and ensure on time shipment delivery.

• Develop regionally focused sourcing plans to support product portfolio strategies.

• Manage a supplier base through building and maintaining productive working relationships.

• Manage, develop and coach merchandise and other team members to achieve higher levels of overall performance.

• Align merchandise team goals and merchandiser’s behaviours with Kmart business strategy and individual performance objectives.

• Provide timely and professional communication to all key internal and external stakeholders on merchandising team performance.

• Manage a supplier base through building and maintaining productive working relationships.

• Organize, plan, deliver and report on projects in line with business requirement.

• Influence, manage and develop the department strategy.

• Set budgets for the required variables at the required planning levels.

• Influence the sourcing strategy to deliver required outcomes involving key supplier strategy sessions.

• 10-15 years of solid merchandising experience in Apparel, preferably in buying office environment

• Sound knowledge of merchandising systems and procedures

• Sound financial management and business planning skills

• High commercial aptitude

• Ability to translate product trends to Australian market

• Proven leadership, communication and teamwork skills

• Understanding of cultural differences across regions

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage major suppliers
