Merchandiser (Lead)

As a Merchandiser (Lead) at Otto International, you will play a crucial role to assist the supervisor in managing an effective team to deliver the highest standard of service, while striking a balance amongst customers’ requirements, the company’s profitability & policy, and suppliers’ resources. You are expected to achieve corporate targets in terms of turnover, delivery performance, sampling, claim ratio and quick lead-times by enhancing the team productivity and efficiency, and to strive for Operational Excellence in performing role responsibilities.

How will you make a difference?

• Keep abreast of market trends.

• Visit the suppliers and factories on a regular basis.

• Develop and source high quality & price competitive suppliers & products, to maintain market competitiveness and improve turnover.

• Develop and nurture business partnerships with other internal departments and external entities, like suppliers, in order to meeting customer requirements.

• Able to turn available information into marketing tools for business enhancement.

• Drive the direction & goals set by the manager, help with training, delegate tasks when necessary, and motivate the development of team’s skills.

• Establish a strong supplier base by evaluating, monitoring and upgrading the performance of existing and potential vendors.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Who we are looking for?

• Minimum 10 years' experience in merchandising.

• Graduated with a degree in a relevant field (Garment, Fashion, Business, etc.).

• Experience with lingerie and other products.

• Proficient in MS Office 365 applications.

• Ability to quickly adapt and use new digital solutions in daily operations.

• Good background knowledge of Materials Sourcing & Development, Garment Construction, and Sample Development.

• Good communication skills with customers and suppliers.

• Good spoken and written English.

• Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

• Team player with a sales-focused mindset.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Able to work under pressure.
