Job Description
SUMMARY
The mold manager supervises and leads the creation of footwear bottom molds from blue print , wooden/prototype molds, mold fabrication and testing in close coordination with dev-com teams, factory technicians, bottom materials team and production team. He is primarily responsible for overseeing Deckers-approved mold shops and work closely with them in ensuring the molds are technically qualified and are done on time. He is also responsible for managing the inventory of production molds including regular assessment of their conditions. He is also in charge and is responsible for ensuring mold cost are reasonable. He leads his team in assisting responsible departments in the setting up and confirmation of molding cycle times. Furthermore, he leads his team in providing technical support to production on productivity and quality issues relating to molds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and leads the creation process of footwear bottom molds from blue print , wooden/prototype molds, mold fabrication and testing in close coordination with dev-com teams, factory technicians, bottom materials team and production team
- Responsible for the assessment and confirmation of new mold shops as well as ensuring availability of enough mold shops to support Deckers regional operations
- Responsible for managing the inventory of production molds including regular assessment of their conditions. Will be responsible in proposing and managing needed repairs of the molds
- In charge and is responsible for ensuring mold cost quotations are reasonable and work with the mold shop how to be more cost-efficient
- Involved in the setting up and confirmation of molding cycle times in coordination with the dev-com and bottom material teams
- Provides technical support to production on productivity and quality issues relating to molds.
- Administrative and technical supervision of the mold team members.
- Do special assignments or projects as maybe assigned by superiors.

Education & Any Certifications Required: Minimally, Should be specialized in shoe manufacturing and mold fabricating , graduated from professional school
Year(s) of Experience & Background Required:10 more years of experience &background of
shoe manufacturing and mold fabricating are needed
cost analyzing /problems solving capability are needed
working with customer and vendor with good communication are needed
lead team to work with departments to set any process /guideline are needed
