Your role
The key focus of this role is to support the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Supervisor in the operations of the PAL program. Duties will revolve around ensuring operational compliance, quality assurance, supporting training and events as well as administration tasks that facilitate the program. The PAL Officer will work directly with the student professionals who provide key academic support services to RMIT students.
Key accountabilities
Plan and organize Peer Assisted Learning operational activities and service delivery.
Logistic support for PAL Academy, PAL training, meet ups and other events.
Implement service quality assessment systems and checks.
Supervise and report on PAL staff compliance to operational and service standards (30% of workload).
Attend key learning events and service points to manage student attendance and support service providers.
Coordinate with PAL Supervisor and Learning Success Coordinators to plan, schedule and ensure compliance with operational procedures for PAL observations.
Coordinate with SAS Senior Office Manager to complete administrational and logistical tasks in training, recruitment, service office management and marketing.
Implement and develop Standard Operational Procedures while completing BAU duties.
Other relevant duties as negotiated with the Line Manager.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
Minimum one-year previous experience in working with stakeholders to plan and facilitate complex events/services, preferably in an educational context.
Skills in using technology and digital tools to organize complex operational systems.
Proven ability to autonomously plan and organize complex projects or services with strong time-management skills and attention to details.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills for collaborating with and facilitating services for diverse learners and colleagues in an international university context.
Experience participating in learning activities as tutor, mentor or peer leader (preferably as part of Peer Assisted Learning programs or learner-central educational programs/projects).
Ability to reassess and adjust operational plans prior, during, and post execution.
Demonstrated experience and ability to facilitate a strong service orientation and positive customer service.
Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
English Proficiency
The minimum requirement is IELTS with a score of at least 5.5 or 150 in Linguaskills.
