Piping Supervisor

Job Purpose

Plan, manage, control, and monitor piping construction works. Instruction and coordination with

piping subcontractor. Supervise all works of piping works and insulation works.

Close communication with the subcontractors and the superior; QC ground, field engineers, the

other supervisors, Construction manager.

Ensure that the works are in accordance with the required quality and safety regulations.

To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule

and budget, in collaboration with project management team.

Respond to work delays, emergencies and other project disruptions.

Assist and/or carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning of piping system at site.

Field piping engineering work, managing piping work BOQ, material list, design drawing

(Isometric, Support, Specification, GA drawing), field change & modification.

Main Responsibilities/Major Tasks

Planning Piping Work

1) Review piping design deliverables such as general specification, material

specification, plot plan, isometric and support drawing.

2) Planning piping construction work, proper work schedule, resource allocation, work

priority, coordination with other plant work.

3) Align the planning with piping subcontractor, internal and external stakeholder.

4) Scaffolding plan, and other temporary plans

5) Review MSRA, procedure and ITP related to the piping work

6) Prepare specification for piping work. Conduct bid analysis (technical, scope of work)

of the subcontractor’ quotations. Review and approve subcontractor documents,

fabrication/installation procedures, factory inspection procedures, pre-commissioning/

commissioning procedures, operation manuals etc.

7) Prepare hydrostatic test/air tightness test and flushing procedures for piping system.

Check the constructed piping and insulation work with construction drawings. Assist

and/or carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning works at site.

Piping Supervisor

1) Manage piping work with subcontractor workforce

2) Attend daily / weekly meeting with the subcontractors.

3) Review the subcontractor’s report

4) Watch Manage, control, and monitor daily construction works. Instruction to the piping

subcontractor. Progress and quality control are part of the daily work.

5) In the case of any malfunctions or problems, identify possible causes, make plans

and implement countermeasures, and issue a non-conformance report.

6) Coordinate interface with other construction group (civil, structure, mechanical,

electrical, instrument etc)

Piping Field Engineer

1) Field piping engineering work, such as field change/ adjustment, rectify the defects,

additional work.

2) Report and rectify the engineering issues with field engineering group.

3) Maintain piping material list, Material shortage, Nonconformance report if any.

Technical Skills

• Science and Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, etc.

• Knowledge in laws, regulations, standards (ASME), etc. applicable to piping work

• Experiences in piping supervisor and field piping engineering

• Experiences in using 3D model viewer, AutoCAD

• Business English Proficiency (Writing, Communication)

Business Experience

• Supervisor or field engineering experiences of plant piping systems (3 years or more)
