Plant General Manager - Northern Vietnam

We are looking for an experienced Plant General Manager to oversee safety, production, maintenance, and quality assurance at one of our client's largest manufacturing facilities. This role requires leading 800+ employees while ensuring operational excellence, compliance with company objectives, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on operations leader with solid people development skills

Description

* Operational Management: Direct daily production, maintenance, and quality operations while ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements

* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a workforce of 800+ employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

* Budget Management: Control manufacturing costs, maintain operational expenses within budget parameters, and identify cost-reduction opportunities

* Safety Leadership: Maintain injury-free workplace standards and implement improvements to address safety incidents and near-miss events

* Performance Optimisation: Utilise lean manufacturing principles and data-driven metrics to identify bottlenecks, reduce costs, and improve overall plant capacity

* Strategic Planning: Participate in demand planning, production scheduling, and new product launches while collaborating with R&D and product management teams

* Process Improvement: Implement innovative manufacturing methods and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve error-free production and world-class KPIs

Profile

* Higher degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field

* 10+ year plant operations or manufacturing engineering experience with proven leadership in medium or large-scale manufacturing environments

* Fluency in English, Vietnamese or Mandarin is required

* Demonstrated ability to develop and lead cross-functional teams as well as to transform organisational performance using lean manufacturing concepts

* Proven track record of maintaining safe workplace standards and implementing safety improvement programs

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in production planning systems and continuous improvement methodologies

* Executive presence with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing to diverse stakeholders
