The Role: Plumbing & Fire Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Plumbing & Fire Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and coordinating plumbing and fire protection systems for various building types in accordance with local and international standards.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop Plumbing & Fire Protection systems including system sizing, hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and layout planning;

• Review and coordinate Plumbing & Fire Protection system drawings (schematic, single-line, shop drawings) with other disciplines;

• Manage works, design schedule of Plumbing & Fire Protection services based on the overall schedule of the project;

• Prepare technical submissions, equipment / material specifications, and method statements;

• Authorship supervision of Plumbing & Fire system installation work on-site to ensure compliance with design and quality standards;

• Liaise with other consultants, sub-consultants, contractors to resolve technical and coordination issues;

• Witness the testing & commissioning (T&C) of Plumbing & Fire Protection systems and ensure all performance parameters are met;

• Prepare site authorship reports, technical issues, T&C results, and as-built documentation;

• Support maintenance and troubleshooting activities for completed Plumbing & Fire Protection systems (if applicable);

• Ensure all the design work complies with relevant codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations;

• Report to Team Leader and M&E Manger.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Hydraulic Engineering or related field;

• Possession of Practicing License (grade II and above) is preferable.

Minimum Years/Type of Experience

• At least 3-4 years of proven experience in Plumbing & Fire system design consultancy roles.

Technical Competencies

• High proficiency in English is an advantage;

• Familiar with local codes & standards and statutory requirements;

• Having experiences working with international codes and standards is a strong plus;

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other necessary software;

• Exposure to healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, or commercial projects is preferred.
