Production Quality Control Engineer - Temporary (6-8 Months)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Quality Control Engineer who is detail-oriented and hands-on to ensure product quality and process compliance in the manufacturing of steel and aluminum fences, railings, and stair systems. This role involves monitoring fabrication and assembly operations, conducting inspections at suppliers' sites, and collaborating with production teams to ensure high-quality standards are maintained and customer specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production activities (weldments, fabricated assemblies) to ensure adherence to technical drawings, welding standards, and finish quality (e.g., powder coating, galvanizing) of fence, railing, and stair components.

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of fence, railing, and stair components, including welds, dimensions, visual, and surface.

• Ensure that proper procedures for powder coating and hot-dip galvanizing are followed and meet the required specifications.

• Analyze production samples and finished products using testing tools and methods.

• Identify and document non-conformities, initiate corrective actions, and follow up on resolution.

• Verify that products meet industry standards (ASTM, AWS, ISO) and internal quality criteria.

• Collaborate with design, fabrication, and assembly teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

• Prepare and maintain detailed quality control (QC) documentation, inspection reports, and records.

• Support customer quality audits, certifications, and compliance documentation.

• Continuously improve quality processes through data analysis and process evaluation.

• Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure the highest standards of quality.

• Train shop-floor personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in quality control or manufacturing in the metal fabrication industry.

• English/Chinese are preferable

• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding processes (MIG/TIG/LASER), metal finishing, and brazing.

• Familiar with quality standards relevant to steel and aluminum structures (e.g., ASTM, AWS, AAMA, ISO 9001).

• Familiar with painting and color inspection tools (gloss meter, thickness meter, color spectrometer)

• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools (Caliper, Dogmatic Micrometers, gauges, weld testing equipment, and Posit Ector).

• Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks is a plus

• Communicate clearly and effectively in English and Vietnamese with local teams and overseas clients. Chinese is a plus.

• Require a significant amount of travel to suppliers or on-site support for quality inspections.

• Knowledge of quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC, and Six Sigma is a plus

• Knowledge of weld inspection, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is a plus

• Mandarin language skills are a plus for effective coordination with suppliers.
