POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project development and leadership:

- Work closely with the AIC leader and other leaders of the University on all aspects of the development and implementation of the assigned projects.

- Take lead and responsibility for the development and implementation of the project activities at VinUni, including but not limited to setting project objectives, provide context, conceptual design, implementation plan, operating model… of the assigned projects.

- Monitor project progress and ensure project quality.

- Manage risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.

- Manage and oversee budgets for strategic funds allocated to projects.

2. Human Resource development, mentoring, and teaching:

- Maintain leadership and mentorship capability in advising and other partnering team members within your area of expertise to build up the team for Project.

- Teach in your area of expertise to junior team members and students in professional and research projects.

- Work with the leaderboard to develop a profile of suitable candidates to collaborate in project teams and participate in selection committees for position appointments.

- Provide teaching, coaching and mentoring for the professional development of team members and VinUni work study students to prepare for future generation.

- Prepare a program for performance appraisal of staff and leaders as assigned by the leaderboard of VinUni.

3. Networking, partnership and other services:

- The project director is expected to take the lead in building up international and national partnerships for VinUni. This includes cooperation and advocacy work with local and international stakeholders and partners to satisfy all the requirements to implement projects in Vietnam context.

- Serve on different sciences/educational and professional committees of VinUniversity as assigned.

The salary benefits are internationally competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Master degree required, PhD preferred.

- Strong track record in higher education.

- Strong track record in project management.

- Experience in both academic and consulting/applied research.

- Excellent interpersonal skills in communicating with various stakeholders, including business professionals, government officials, and academics.

- Excellent written communication skills.

- Verbal communication skill in Vietnamese is a plus.

- Experience in negotiation.

- Experience in coaching/mentoring professionals.

- Experience of working in multidisciplinary and collaborative research and educational team.

- Experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, and personnel supervision.

- English is the language of teaching and communication at VinUniversity. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.5. English Language Proficiency can also be proven by having completed Master studies while being instructed through the medium of English.
